Ignition Sessions at The WindFarm: Where Cars, Culture & Community Collide

I recently popped in at Ignition Sessions at The WindFarm, a car and culture event hosted by Nalo Vibes, and it delivered exactly what the name promises — energy, style, and pure automotive passion. Set at The WindFarm Petrol Station on the N2, the venue created a laid-back park & chill atmosphere where car enthusiasts and music lovers could connect, hang out, and celebrate the culture. From the moment you arrived, it was clear this wasn’t just another car meet — it was a full experience. Stance, Sound & Serious Style At its core, Ignition Sessions was a stance show, and the cars did not disappoint. Clean builds, aggressive fitment, unique rides, and detailed engine bays filled the space, each car telling its own story. The crowd played a big role too, choosing winners across multiple categories — from Best Static and Best Wheel to Crowd Pleaser, Best Female, and Overall Best Stance. Adding another layer to the event was the sound-off competition, where powerful sound systems shook the ground and drew crowds around the loudest builds. Whether you were there for fitment, sound, or both, there was something to keep your attention. Music, Food & Good Vibes Live music set the tone for the day, with a live band from the northern areas providing a soundtrack that matched the relaxed but buzzing atmosphere. Good food stalls kept everyone fuelled, while car-related vendors added to the experience. Nalo Vibes described the event best themselves — “We are building a home for the culture. A monthly ritual.” And honestly, it felt exactly like that. A space where enthusiasts could be themselves, show love for the craft, and just enjoy being around like-minded people. Drip Kings, Queens & Crowd Energy Style wasn’t limited to the cars. Attendees showed up dressed to impress, competing for Best Drip King and Best Drip Queen, proving once again that car culture and fashion go hand in hand. The crowd energy played a huge role in the event’s success — from cheering during competitions to vibing around the cars and music. Capturing the Moment I spent some time walking around, taking photos of the cars and the people who make events like this what they are. From polished builds to candid moments, Ignition Sessions had plenty worth capturing — a reminder that car culture is just as much about community as it is about machines. Final Thoughts Ignition Sessions at The WindFarm was a solid blend of cars, music, fashion, and community, and a strong example of what happens when passion leads the way. If this is the direction Nalo Vibes is heading with their events, the local car scene is in good hands. If you missed this one, keep an eye out — this feels like the start of something special.

Lovemore Festival: A Celebration of Cars, Culture & Community

The Lovemore Festival delivered exactly what car culture is all about — passion, creativity, and community. As Wild FPR, I had the opportunity to cover the event through both photography and videography, capturing moments that reflected the heart and soul of the automotive scene. From the moment the gates opened, it was clear that Lovemore Festival was more than just a car show. The venue buzzed with energy as enthusiasts gathered around immaculate builds, shared stories, and admired the craftsmanship on display. Car lovers pulled through from all over the region, including Cape Town, George, Mossel Bay, Oudtshoorn, East London, and surrounding areas — proving just how far-reaching the love for automotive culture truly is. More Than Just Cars The festival experience was elevated by a wide variety of food trucks, offering everything from comfort food classics to unique street-style flavours. Alongside the food were several automotive equipment and apparel vendors, giving attendees a chance to browse gear, accessories, and merch that perfectly matched the lifestyle. One of the standout features for me personally was the cocktail bar, which served an impressive range of non-alcoholic drinks. Refreshing, well-crafted, and thoughtfully presented — it was the perfect complement to a full day of walking the grounds and shooting content. Media, Movement & Recognition Lovemore Festival also drew attention from multiple respected media houses within the scene. It was great linking up with Gas Culture, DeetFreak Media, Undisputed Photography, and many more creatives who were all there to document the day from their own perspectives. The atmosphere behind the cameras was just as inspiring as what was happening in front of them. On the judging side, LowCo pulled through alongside Euroworx and the team from Xtreme Autofest, taking on the tough task of selecting winners among an incredibly strong lineup of vehicles. In addition to the official judging, the media team also had to choose a winner, adding another layer of recognition that celebrated not just builds, but presence, originality, and impact. A Shared Passion What stood out most was the sense of unity. Whether it was owners explaining the story behind their builds, spectators appreciating the details, or creators capturing the perfect angle — everyone was there for the same reason: a shared love for cars and culture. This blog post sets the stage for what follows. Below, I’ll be featuring select vehicles from the event — each with its own short story inspired by the build, the owner, and the energy it brought to Lovemore Festival. Every car has a story, and this event was full of them. Standout Builds from the Day Lovemore Festival delivered a diverse lineup of builds that showcased just how wide and creative the automotive scene has become. Among the standout vehicles were some exceptionally clean Volkswagen Golf 5 GTIs, each bringing its own take on stance, performance, and styling. One of the most creative builds on display was a BMW E30, which took home Best Creative. The car featured a bold cut-out bonnet that proudly revealed a turbocharged engine setup, paired with a custom widebody, extremely deep-dish wheels, and a fully custom interior — a build that sparked conversation wherever it parked. Also drawing plenty of attention was a Red Bull–themed BMW E46, standing out with its motorsport-inspired livery and strong visual presence. On the Volkswagen side, a female-owned static Volkswagen Golf 7 SV claimed Best Female, highlighting both clean execution and attention to detail. Alongside it was another female-owned Volkswagen Golf 7 from the Regulators crew, equipped with air suspension and proudly representing women in the scene. A striking turquoise Volkswagen Golf Mk1, which took home Best of Show, also made its mark, featuring carbon fiber accents, a full roll cage, and a turbo setup under the bonnet. Rolling on original Lenso BSX wheels and sitting comfortably on air suspension, it perfectly blended classic Volkswagen heritage with modern performance and stance culture. Rounding out the highlights was a BMW E46 station wagon, sitting right on proper split BBS wheels with SSR lips — a rare and tasteful combination that added something different to the lineup. And that was only scratching the surface. With so many unique builds on display, Lovemore Festival proved once again that the culture continues to evolve, driven by creativity, passion, and an unwavering love for cars. — Wild FPR

From the sound of compressors echoing across the beachfront to the sight of builds rolling in low and clean, the event carried a vibe that felt both electric and welcoming. This wasn’t just about showcasing rides — it was about celebrating the people and passion that make the stance scene what it is. The Team and Support None of it would have been possible without the people behind the scenes. BayFM and King Shine came through strong, while MOB Ent. and Gas Culture had the cameras rolling to cover the day. Judging and on-the-day support came from DeetFreak Entertainment, with Jason adding his expertise to the judging panel. A big thanks also goes to From Scratch Printwork & Website Development, who not only backed the event but also built this very website. Park-Off & Limbo: VibeCity Takes Over Gelvan Track

On Sunday, 9 February 2025, Gelvan Track became the stage for a day that mixed stance culture with pure community spirit. VibeCity hosted a Park-Off and Limbo session that brought together some of Slam City’s cleanest rides, along with a handful of visitors from nearby Uitenhage. The lineup looked like a curated gallery of stance — BMWs with tucked wheels, Golfs sitting just right, and a few unexpected builds that made you stop mid-step to admire the details. The limbo contest turned the crowd into one big voice, shouting and clapping as cars inched lower and lower, each attempt pushing the limits of ground clearance. But the heart of the day wasn’t just the cars. It was the kas kar. Built from scrap wood, old wheels, and a crate for a seat, the humble ride became the highlight for the kids. They tore through the lot with wide smiles, pushing and pulling each other as if every run was their own grand prix. The sight of a kas kar zipping past a polished stance car felt like a snapshot of the culture itself — playful, inventive, and rooted in the streets. What made the vibe special was the balance: stance enthusiasts showing off their builds, families soaking in the atmosphere, and kids keeping traditions alive in the most authentic way. Gelvan Track, with its open space and gritty backdrop, gave the whole event a raw edge that only added to the storytelling. VibeCity didn’t just put on a Park-Off and Limbo — they gave Slam City a reminder of what makes the scene more than just cars. It’s about people, passion, and the little things — like a kas kar flying past a BMW on a cloudy Sunday afternoon.

Nightwash: Cape Road’s Grand Opening with a Street Culture Spin

Saturday, 15 February 2025, didn’t feel like just another weekend in Port Elizabeth. By late afternoon, cars were already rolling in along Cape Road, music spilling out of sound systems, and heads turning as lowered builds cruised toward one place — the brand-new Sasol Cape Road. This wasn’t your usual grand opening. Hosted by King Shine and DeetFreak Entertainment, Nightwash set the tone for what the upgraded forecourt, store, and car wash were all about: community, culture, and cars. As the sun dipped and the forecourt lights flicked on, the lineup began to glow. Stance cars sat low and wide under the neon wash of light, each one freshly detailed. Some owners even drove straight through the new car wash before parking up, their paint dripping under the spotlights. The sound of blowers drying cars mixed with basslines in the distance, and it was clear — this wasn’t just a fuel station anymore. It was a stage. Crowds drifted between cars and food stalls, a plate of street food in one hand, a phone in the other capturing the scene. The air carried that unmistakable blend of petrol, fresh polish, and the smoky aroma from food cooking nearby. Then came the entertainment. Deejays spun tracks that shook the lot, pulling people closer to the stage. Local rappers stepped up, bars sharp and delivery raw, the crowd cheering with every punchline. Dancers took the spotlight, moving in rhythm with the beats, their energy bouncing back into the audience. It felt alive — like Cape Road had been waiting for this kind of night. What made Nightwash stand out was how everything connected. Cars being washed right there at the venue, music thumping in the background, food stalls keeping the flow of the night alive — it all blended into one seamless experience. You could detail your car, grab a bite, catch a performance, and still make it back in time to watch another slammed ride roll through the gates. By the end of the night, Nightwash had done more than launch a fuel station. It had announced a new hub for the stance community and beyond. King Shine and DeetFreak Entertainment turned a grand opening into a cultural moment, one that people will point to as the night Cape Road changed.

This wasn’t just any car meet – it was the kickoff for Algoa Grand Prix Indoor Go-Karting, and the energy was next level. The build-up started earlier on September 15th, when we hit the mall for a promo shoot. Inside, a bagged Golf 8 GTi stole the spotlight, showing off just how clean and aggressive a modern stance car can look in a mall setting. From there, we moved to the rooftop to capture the rest of the lineup – slammed rides, unique builds, and the people who make the scene what it is. The vibe was electric. Cars weren’t just parked; they were flexing. Owners were proud, photographers were snapping, and the rooftop became a mix of precision stance and street-level style.
